Pay fish to pass

Bum shot

A Yellow-billed stork & a Green-backed heron were fishing from the low-level bridge at Shingwedzi. The stork especially was not letting any car interfere with his lunch. We tried to bribe it so we could pass, but our Rands didn’t smell fishy enough.

Waking up in Skukuza

I made this photo of the Selati railroad bridge back in 2006. I watched the baboons waking up and leaving the bridge. They sleep there, it’s quite safe from predators. The Selati train stopped running in 1973. Selati station is a restaurant nowadays. Best food in Kruger!

Kruger windmill

This is a typical old windmill in Kruger National Park. They don’t all have nests of course I think this might be a Hamerkop nest.  Anyway, this windmill pumps water into a drinking trough for animals.
