I was born in the Southern Hemishere, in South Africa where I lived until I was ten. In 1975 I moved to the Netherlands, to beautiful Groningen, which is about 3 feet above sea level. Groningen is the largest town in the north of Holland and has a population of around 185,000 people.
A few years ago I discovered I really love photography. After shooting with a Panasonic Lumix FZ30 for a while, I decided to buy a DSLR and take photography classes. You can see my photos on Flickr.
My other interests in life are wildlife and good food. Besides enjoying delicious food, I like being outdoors: watching wildlife, big and small; landscapes, seascapes. I’m a newbie birdwatcher. I actually started watching birds on my first trip to Australia, in 2002. I got more involved in birding during recent trips to my mother country South Africa. I’m a lousy lister though.
Besides this website I have two Dutch sites: Kruger Nationaal Park & iCommunicatie.
